Building Website Traffic Using Video Marketing

There is no question about it the success of a website is dependent upon traffic generation. All webmasters have a common goal and that is increasing the number of visitors to their websites. But how do these webmasters go about trying to achieve this? Let’s face it, the internet is awash with literally thousands of how-to eBooks claiming to reveal the ‘secret’ to increasing website traffic.

The webmaster can thus be forgiven for being confused as to the best way to go about increasing site traffic. While some of these eBooks do indeed contain valuable information and traffic building tips, there is one technique that has more than proven itself over the last couple of years or so, and that technique is web video. This powerful tool enables the webmaster to create high profile websites that, in time, can end up being visited by thousands of interested viewers (potential customers) each day.

One of the main reasons why so many webmasters are using web video as a means to drive traffic is because it is such a powerful way to interact with website visitors, at the same time, providing them with pivotal information in a way mere words alone cannot compete with. Let’s face it, in this day and age people are generally more comfortable watching a presentation than reading about it. Nevertheless, there are a number of key factors that should be considered when creating a web video. Simply put a video should be:

* Interesting
* Entertaining
* Informative

The main consideration is that the video should be informative. One must remember that viewers will find the video based on only what the video is about (keywords). If you are marketing an eBook on, say, home maintenance, the best way to reach your target audience is to make short videos on how to fix various problems within your home and be sure to mention your eBook in the videos. An example of this would be to create and upload a video explaining the steps necessary to fix a leaking faucet. This not only will give your viewers a chance to see how knowledgeable you are and informative your video is, but you will also be helping them out as well. The chances are, when you create and upload a video that solves a problem, viewers will be inclined to visit your website to find out solutions to other problems. This may also give them a good reason to purchase your product.

When you have created several videos pertaining to your niche, you will need to upload them to a host site in order for them to be viewed. So where should these videos be hosted? Without question the most popular video hosting site is YouTube.com, although there are literally hundreds of other sites that allow you to upload your video to their server.

Once you’ve uploaded your videos to YouTube.com, and tagged them with the appropriate keywords and the link to your website, you should start to see a steady increase of traffic to your site. Manually uploading your videos to all the other hosting sites is of course time consuming, and you may wish to consider using a video submission service such as Traffic Geyser. This service will submit your videos to all the major hosting sites, thus allowing your website traffic to increase exponentially.
