Every month social network giants like Facebook and Twitter grow significantly while more and more businesses climb on the social bandwagon. By utilizing these new found social tools online businesses expand their presence on the World Wide Web and develop targeted traffic to their websites.

For those starting an online business there really never has been a better time to take advantage of social tools to get the word out about your business. With Facebook you can create a fan page and connect with a targeted audience of your choosing. Then quickly broadcast your content using automated online business software as often as you like. Twitter is another great social tool that focuses mainly on status updates. Every user posts a “tweet” as they are called in the Twitter world. These are short posts designed to broadcast important news about you the user. You may choose to follow others and by doing so you receive even more followers of your own.

Typically when a friend or follower on Facebook or Twitter feel as though a business has something of value for them or others they pass along this information to their social group. This is social networking at its finest, and below are a few helpful hints to take full advantage of these social skills.

•    Post daily status updates that get your audience attention. Word them in such a way as to captivate and make them take some type of action.
•    Interact with your followers, clients and customers. Everyone wants to be heard and share their advice. Most customers like doing business with those that share the same values and opinions rather than talking to a blank wall.
•    Discussion boards are a good way to interact with followers or potential customers. Conversation on any social network is vital to good customer relationships, which in turn results in traffic for your online business.
•    Use automated online business software to bookmark your content to as many social networks as possible. Using Onlywire or other bookmarking programs, it becomes possible to get your word out to dozens of social sites several times a day using a link building strategy pointing to your online business.

When it comes to starting an online business, social networking is the single best approach to marketing online dollar for dollar.     yes today social sites are the largest traffic transmitters after search engine. Follow the traditional posting stuff but also think of something new too .. out of the box ..
