Traffic Generation is Vital to Internet Marketing Success

By Chad Carlton · Comments (0) · Saturday, November 13th, 2010

The key to starting an online business and making it successful comes down to three ingredients.

1.       Having a product or service people actually need or think they need.

2.       Deliver value when supplying people’s needs.

3.       Get targeted traffic to your websites.

In this article I will focus primarily on targeted traffic and the time tested techniques that actually work.

First, it is important to know who your market is and focus your efforts directly to them on the internet. For example if your niche is dog related products, submitting articles in dog related blogs makes more since than just any blog. The same idea goes for other social sites as well and how you pick your friends, etc…

Article marketing is one method that many internet marketers use. When done consistently and correctly it is one of the most effective ways to driving targeted traffic to you web business.  Many newbie’s start off writing their own copy, but because this is so time-consuming, most successful businesses delegate this work to virtual assistants or professional writers.

Social networking is another excellent way to drive targeted traffic. It basically tells the world who you are and what you’re doing online. There are millions of people on Facebook, Twitter and hundreds of other social sites all with their interests stamped all over them. This makes it easy to narrow down your list of friends and followers and target your niche.  However, like many other marketing techniques social networking is also very time-consuming and must be done consistently and correctly. Again in time you may consider delegating this work to a virtual assistant and spend your time as a business owner delivering value to your customers.

Although article marketing and social networking are necessary for today’s online businesses, keywords and how you use them are vital to your online success.  Learning keyword research may very well be the difference between traffic generation, or having your online business fail. Strategically place these keywords and you will generate traffic.  It is extremely important as a business owner exploring internet marketing, to fully understand keyword research and either learn it or delegate this work to more qualified people and then monitors the results.

It is paramount as a business owner to always monitor the results of all work being performed and make changes along the way to get the results you need to be successful online. If you are interested in these and many other internet marketing strategies please visit our website.

Getting Free Traffic To Your Website – 4 Easy Ways

By Chad Carlton · Comments (0) · Wednesday, May 26th, 2010

So, you’ve finished setting up your website; you have introduced your online business and presented the products and services that you offer. Your website includes promotions to catch your visitor’s attention. So far you have followed the standard blueprint for creating a website servicing an online business. So why you are not seeing the commercial results you were hoping for? The chances are that you have not planned and implemented an effective website promotion campaign. There are a few things you should be aware of when promoting your site.

Any promotional effort should be maintained at a constant rate. It is obviously no use spending a few days promoting your site then taking your foot off the gas as it were. Constant and persistent promotion will be rewarded with gradually improved SERP results and you will also begin to gain attention within your target audience. Patience is a virtue, so they say. You will need to experiment with each promotional technique until you are satisfied that you are using the most effective free methods available. Testing each method is, of course, of paramount importance.

Having said the above, here are four zero cost promotional techniques that you can experiment with until you find what works for you:

Search Engines and Directories

You can place a description and free link to your website in many search engines and online directories. There is usually a paid upgrade option, but most basic listings are free of charge. You will need to search out these online directories and place your link in the sections most applicable to your business.

Link Exchange

Search for other websites similar to your own and contact the webmaster about a mutual exchange of links. This is usually beneficial to both parties so most webmasters will be agreeable to such an exchange. Make sure your link anchor text contains your keyword.

Classified Ads

Search online for sites offering free classified ad placements. One benefit of these ads is that they may be viewed by persons outside of your target audience but who may also be interested in the products and services that you offer.

Free Internet Banners

Place a free (or, in the worst case, low-cost) banner on sites which provide this service. Banners are extremely effective at catching the reader’s attention, however it is important not to ‘overdo’ your banner with multi-colors and flashing text.

When you have implemented the above it is important that you track how your visitors arrive at your site in order to identify the most effective and, by elimination, the least effective promotional techniques. Continual monitoring of your website traffic together with refinement of the effective promotional techniques should result in you seeing an increase in visitors to your site.

Website Traffic Generation using a Link Building Strategy

By Chad Carlton · Comments (0) · Monday, April 12th, 2010

In today’s competitive online market it is more important than ever to use a link building strategy to create traffic generation to your website.  After all without targeted traffic to your site your online business will not succeed.

A very powerful technique used by internet savvy marketers is submitting articles and videos. This information is content and must be about your product or niche with a link pointing back to your URL. When the article or video is submitted to an appropriate directory this will in turn create another URL. These URL’s are then copy and pasted into various social media networks all back-linking to your online business. After a dozen or two original content articles or videos the additional back-links really begin to multiply and create targeted traffic to your business.

An added benefit to the links you create is your website gains search engine ranking. Keep in mind that Google likes content. Search engines see these links much like a road map all pointing to your content and the result, providing the content is good and relevant usually boosts your page ranking. Other factors play into this for example, competition, keywords, how long the domain has been around etc. However as a general rule the more information you have uploaded to the internet with many links pointing to this information the more likely search engines will find you. With enough good content, back-links and search engine optimization you could easily find your website on page one of a Google search.

Many online businesses find writing articles and doing videos to be very time consuming work. However to be successful online you really need to make this a part of your marketing plan. Fortunately with today’s technology there are many ways an online business can use this strategy with much less effort than in years past.

Larger companies of course use marketing firms to handle this market strategy. However smaller companies with today’s technology hire virtual assistants also known as outsourcing. These assistants can be worth their weight in gold, literally. A good virtual assistant will create keyword rich content then submit the content and collect the newly created URL’s. Then with a single click blast them out among dozens of social networks.

It is not unusual for many online businesses today to do most of this marketing in-house. Using available software and a clear organized strategy many online marketers create all their own content and use this link building strategy effectively. For those of you that are interested in learning more about traffic generation, submitting articles, videos and links our website has more, much more free information available. The key to online business success is, knowing market strategies and how to use them effectively.
