The Highly-targeted Opt-in List And Why You Need To Build One

By Chad Carlton · Comments (0) · Wednesday, May 12th, 2010

It seems that many people, when asked the question ‘do you think you are successful with your online business?, will not reply with a straight answer, and for good reason; it would appear that these people believe that merely having an online presence, such as a website, is good enough to claim success!

Unfortunately, simply having a website is no guarantee of internet marketing success since, unless you take further positive action, then it is unlikely that potential customers will even be aware that your website exists.
The key factor to online marketing success is getting your business noticed.

A good way of attracting notice is to build what is know as an opt-in list, mailing list or, simply, a ‘list’. It is likely that the truly successful internet marketers will confirm that having a highly targeted opt-in list is the most important weapon in their IM armory.

Essentially, an opt-in, or mailing, list is a compilation of email addresses of people who have agreed (by opting-in) to obtain any kind of relevant information from online businesses like yours. Since these people have confirmed their opt-in, you have their explicit permission to send to them whatever newsletters, brochures, or promotions that are relevant to your online business. Receiving this explicit permission is important since, without it, and mailings could (and probably would) be considered as spam and therefore illegal

Building such a list of potential customers is reasonably straightforward and the exposure the list gives your business means that it should become your most valuable internet marketing resource. You will be able to maintain contact with previous buyers as well as promoting products to potential customers also on your list.

The following points will enable the newcomer to start and develop a list in the most effective manner:.

1. Select a niche market / target market.

It is important that, before starting list building, you select a niche or target market to develop your list around. This way any promotions that you mail to your list will be relevant to the people on that list.

2. Verify niche / target market is available online.

This may seem obvious but before settling on your niche / target market, it is essential that you verify that the market exists online since the nature of list building is peculiar to the internet.

3. Verify niche / target market is commercially viable.

A highly targeted list will, of course, be wasted if there is not serious income generating potential associated with your chosen market. You can verify the commercial viability of the market by carrying out checks on the search engines using your chosen keywords.

4. Investigate the common problems of your target market and generate solutions.

This can be typically carried out on forums associated with your market. By identifying common problems raised by your target audience you can provide solutions for people to use thus establishing yourself as an expert and giving your business increased exposure.

So the success of an online business can largely be determined by the size and quality of a highly targeted opt-in list. The list provides the marketer with, essentially, a life-long resource for promoting products and generating additional income online.

How to Make Money as an Affiliate Marketer

By Chad Carlton · Comments (0) · Wednesday, May 12th, 2010

Affiliate programs are great. They allow you make money by selling someone else’s product or service without all the hassle that comes with it: handling, shipping, answering customer questions, and so forth. All you have to do is to make people buy the product by means of advertising and promotion. Many people get interested in this type of money-making opportunity that can yield six-digit monthly incomes when done right, but don’t count on making it big as an affiliate marketer right away. Such payouts are a privilege of a few top performers in affiliate marketing industry. But affiliate marketing can be used to generate at least passive income.

Picking the Right Affiliate Program is a Half of the Success

Unlike PPC programs, affiliate marketing pays based on action, such as purchasing a product, subscribing to a newsletter, or registering at a website. Therefore, conversion rates are of high importance. Also, product or service quality is vital, since returns are subtracted from the affiliate’s commission. A simple strategy can be implemented for choosing the right program:
- Always pick reputable providers, that offer high quality products and services;
- Choose the product or service that would blend in with your website or blog theme;
- Do not pick expensive products, since usually they convert poorly and are only good for narrow-targeted or highly-visited sites;
- Promote products that offer high commission;
- Track your conversion rates, since it gives a measurable cost and profit picture.

A Website or a Blog is More Than a Money Maker

While affiliate programs have been originally designed for websites and blogs, the latter are not the only means of getting income from affiliate marketing. It is always a good idea to test an affiliate program on your blog and get the feel of conversion and visitor’s approval of the product. It is even a better idea to offer products from different providers – this way you may compare the performance among them. Should you come across an affiliate program that has a good conversion rate and good user perception, you may take the next step – advertising through PPC campaigns. With proper analytics and good presentation, it could be an effective way to expand your affiliate earnings. For example, if your commission is £15, and the conversion rate is 1:50, this means that one click brings you £0.30, on average. Should you launch an AdWords campaign with an average click cost of £0.20, you can enjoy a profit of £0.10 per click – and that is without having a website! Advertising through newsletters you send to subscribers is another good way of affiliate promotion.

Affiliate Marketing is not a “Get Rich Quick” program

Affiliate marketing is an excellent source of passive income that should gradually increase as time passes. This is especially true for marketing services that are subscription-based, and pay recurring or even lifetime commission. It is important to understand that merchants do not charge you fees to become an affiliate marketer and information about merchants may easily be found on Internet. Therefore, stay away from anybody who offers “insider’s affiliate information” for a fee. Do not fall for claims that so many people made so many millions of pounds just by having that information. Earnings come from relevant, high-converting affiliate programs blended into a high-trafficked web environment. Profits derive from simple proportions of page views, clicks, and conversions: nothing less, nothing more.

By Chad Carlton · Comments (0) · Wednesday, May 5th, 2010

Search engine optimization, or SEO, is quickly becoming one of the best ways to increase your website’s advertising power. With the right SEO, you’ll find your website ranking higher and higher in search results for keywords pertaining to your business, and you’ll find a wider customer base from which to draw your business. And the people you reach will be far more likely to be interested in your products and services, so your advertising money will be put to better use. While the basic principles of SEO are simple to understand, there are also SEO professionals who specialize in optimizing websites for search engines. So what are the benefits of outsourcing your SEO to an expert?

The first benefit to hiring an SEO professional is their experience. The right SEO expert will have plenty of experience with optimizing websites for search engine results, and will be able to help you to streamline your keywords, and to use them for maximum effectiveness throughout your site. They’ll know what works and what doesn’t, and will be able to guide you to choosing the right keywords to give your site maximum exposure while still pointing them firmly in the direction of your target demographic. What are the benefits of outsourcing your SEO to an expert? Their experience is one of the biggest assets.

Another benefit to hiring an SEO professional is their specialized training. SEO isn’t only about using keywords. Another crucial aspect of SEO is the coding of your site itself. You may have enough savvy to use proper keyword density in your website, but, unless your business is SEO-related, you probably don’t know how to optimize your code for search engine searches. What are the benefits of outsourcing your SEO to an expert? They have the specialized knowledge that can help you to make every single aspect of your website SEO-friendly.

Basic SEO can be quite simple, but excellent SEO is a job best left to the professionals. So once you’ve asked the question: “What are the benefits of outsourcing your SEO to an expert?” and received an answer, you’re sure to agree that hiring an SEO professional just might be the smartest move you could ever make to increase the efficacy of your online advertising campaign. You want to do your best to promote your website. Hiring an SEO professional is an investment that you won’t regret making. Once you’ve hired one, you’ll wonder how you ever managed without one.

Será Que Vai Ter Sucesso com o seu Negócio na Internet ?

By Chad Carlton · Comments (0) · Saturday, February 20th, 2010

O Bom, O Mau e O Feio -
