How a Virtual Assistant Can Help When Starting an Online Business

By Chad Carlton · Comments (0) · Thursday, June 24th, 2010

When it comes to starting an online business there is a lot of work that needs to be done and most importantly, done right. This is where a virtual assistant can help grow your business and possibly make the difference between success and failure.

As a business owner it is paramount that you deliver value to your customers. But first you have to get in front of your customers in order for them to find the value you are offering. Typically most business owners do not have enough time to do all that is necessary to be successful online.  Therefore a good business owner will delegate the work load they either don’t like doing or are not qualified as others to do. This is where the virtual assistant comes in handy.

These are some of the tasks most often delegated to virtual assistants:
Website design, development and search engine optimization (SEO). A qualified assistant should know how to find keywords using keyword tools and test the results of the keyword phrase.  They can place these keywords in your headlines, content and linking structure to optimize search results for your online business.

Another task an assistant can accomplish for your business is creating relevant content on a continual basis. They can create content in the form of articles, videos and sales ads all with maximum SEO exposure. It is vital for an online business to continually add new and relevant content as it relates to their business in order to maintain a high ranking with search engines.

Today social networking sites are a great way to get the word out and get back links to your website. Most virtual assistants will take care of this busy work for you by submitting posts to multiple social sites by using the latest online business software daily.

These are just a few of the important tasks a virtual assistant can accomplish for those starting an online business. I highly recommend taking advantage of the services available when you the business owner haven’t the time or expertise, and focus more of your time on creating value for your customer.

When it comes to making an income online as with any business, how you market your business is usually more important than what you are marketing. Therefore how you market your online business will most likely determine your success. For those interested in learning more about online marketing strategies we have a large amount of free information on our website and we welcome your comments.

Starting an Online Business Using a Word Press Blog

By Chad Carlton · Comments (1) · Thursday, June 10th, 2010

Are you aware how many successful online businesses started off with a Word Press blog? The fact is the numbers are staggering and still growing today. Anyone interested in starting an online business can achieve the same success by learning a few internet skills and then implement what they learn using online business software. Here is how to do it:

  1. Discover your niche. Go with what interests you and others. An example is, if you are into computer games it is likely many others are as well and this could be your niche. Chances are you already know something about this niche so you already have a connection with your target audience.
  2. Learn the skills. Also take about the same amount of time each day and dedicate it to learning online marketing skills. Don’t get caught up in any sales hype promising you the world at your feet! I had to through that in because this is total garbage and will keep you from learning how to really make money online.

The skills you really need to learn are marketing skills. Keyword research, how to find and use keywords to optimize you’re heading tags, anchor text links and internal linking structure. This may sound complicated but honestly by taking a little time to educate yourself you will find it’s really not that difficult. Just take your time and learn these skills because how your market will likely determine your success.

  3. Next while learning skills open a free blog on wordpress.com. Use this free service and learn how to use word press, themes, plugins, widgets etc… Later after you have developed your skills you can buy your domain name (keyword business name) and a hosting account. Then your blog will be a little more professional. However there is a lot to be said about learning the tips and tricks on word press for free first.
  4. Now that you have a good understanding of how to research relevant keywords you need to start writing short articles about your niche and start posting them to your blog. Typically the more good content you post the more likely people will find your blog. You should post no less than one good article a day, more is better. If you have a problem coming up with enough quality content than outsource it with a virtual assistant. This is critical because search engines like blogs and particularly word press for consistently new content. Without quality constant content your blog will never make you any money.

When it comes to building an online business, learning how to market your niche is without question the most important strategy to learn. Word press just happens to be the perfect platform. We have a lot more free information available on our website for anyone interested in learning online marketing skills necessary for an online business to succeed.

Strategies for Starting an Online Business

By Chad Carlton · Comments (0) · Wednesday, May 26th, 2010

In this article I will go over some real strategies for making money online and get you thinking in terms of how it is done step by step.
First on the list is to start your own blog and monetize it with affiliate products, Google Adsense and even popular Click Bank digital products. The right way to go about this is to pick a niche that you and many others enjoy, and then learn all you can about it. Zero in on a targeted niche that people are looking for information about, these can be very profitable.
Now take a little time to learn keyword research, I mean really learn and understand it because without understanding basic SEO (search engine optimization) you will not be successful online. Once you truly understand keyword research purchase a domain name with relevant keywords that pertain to your niche and put your blog up on the internet.
When your site is up it is time to start adding some affiliate products. Choose products carefully and be sure they are directly related to your niche. Concentrate only on products that people are really searching for, so use your keyword tools. Do the same for any Google Adsense or digital products you advertise on your blog. Use your keyword research and find what people are searching for. Then give them what they want.
Now it is time for a little traffic generation. Create articles, write reviews and maybe even do some videos. Using your recently learned skills with keyword research you can start loading the internet with content, which is what search engines are looking for. The more quality content that is relevant to your products you put on the net the more traffic you will get to your blog. Be sure to use keyword rich heading tags, anchor text links and internal linking so that search engines see your content everywhere and send traffic to your website. Effective SEO is an on-going, ever changing process. To get traffic you must continually add new content and test the results.
These are the basic steps to start building an online business. To develop a successful online business it is not unlike any other business, it takes good planning, hard work, long hours and the right mind set. We have a lot more free information about internet market strategies on our website for those interested. The internet is really a wonderful opportunity for those willing to learn online marketing skills and then use these skills to work their niche markets.

Learn Online Marketing Techniques before Starting an Online Business

By Chad Carlton · Comments (1) · Wednesday, May 19th, 2010

If you are thinking of starting an online business, I highly recommend learning online marketing techniques and skills before you begin. By taking the time to understand the basic skills, tips and tricks (there are a lot of them) you will save yourself hundreds of hours not to mention dollars.

I don’t want to discourage anyone who has hopes of making a living online, but the facts are that most people do not make a dime. The reason for this is most people do not understand how much work is involved and that all businesses take time to grow. Many online gurus today are spamming the internet with “get rich quick with no effort needed” rubbish, rubbish and more rubbish.

These are the three leading reasons most people are not successful making a living online:

1. Most people do not want to do the work necessary for success. For most it is easier to work forty hours a week for an employer in trade for a consistent paycheck. This is a choice people make for many reasons and is neither right nor wrong, simply a choice.
2. Many people don’t take the time to study and learn. Unfortunately many people think they can get away with just winging it. Again this is just another form of not doing the work or walking the talk.
3. Some take the time to learn but never implement what they learn. Many of these people just move from one thing to the next without ever completing a clear objective.

If any of these sound familiar please think again about doing business online. For those that understand creating a business is work, online or off and are willing to do what it takes to be successful than go for it. The internet is a great opportunity for those that take the time to learn internet marketing skills. Some free business advice for you to always remember is, to be successful online how you market is more important than what you market.
